Also know as 'Stargazer' or 'poor mans Crayfish', Monkfish is widespread in New Zealand coastal waters and more common around the southern part of the South Island.
Monkfish has a firm texture and is perfect to pan roast, have in a curry or seafood stew and is also an ideal fish to use if you are BBQing. Due to its firm flesh it is also possibly the best fish for using if making kebabs.
