Mt Cook Alpine Salmon are raised in the swift, cold currents of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Constant swimming against the fast, glacier-fed water keeps these Freshwater King Salmon healthy and fit with minimal solid stored fats. Instead, they store most of their energy as readily accessible intramuscular oil. Both these traits are visible in the fine marbling and silky texture of the flesh. This is New Zealand's finest tasting freshwater salmon.
